Summer is a beautiful time to be here at Springwater.  The gardens, the birds, the people, the quiet, all invite us to join together for Silent Retreats, All Day Sittings and Quiet weeks, all of which are described below.  If you are unable to come in person you can always join all the offerings online via Zoom.  Coming right up this weekend:

You may register for this retreat full or part time. Space is still available to attend in person. Online attendance is unlimited.  Bob will be giving talks and will meet with participants individually and together in the group dialogues. A Meditative Atmosphere in the midst of Everyday Life

Quiet Weeks take place between some retreats. During these weeks, specific areas in the house are kept in silence, while the rest of the house continues to function as usual during staff working hours. During staff days off following retreats, silence will be kept all day. This provides a quiet, meditative atmosphere in the midst of everyday life, where each participant will have the option of remaining in silence, or moving from silence into talking as they wish.

Design Your own Retreat

Quiet Weeks offer the opportunity to design your own retreat—with options for timed and open sitting, group dialogues, and individual meetings with teachers in residence. You may attend as many days as you like, and you may combine two retreats with the Quiet Weeks to create a month-long retreat.

Sandra will give talks, meet privately with both in-person and online attendees, and take part in dialogue meetings with the in-person group and the online group. 

Sandra has been leading retreats in both English and Spanish for many years. She began working with Toni Packer in 1988. Previously, she studied for seven years at Zen centers in New York and California.

In an article by Sandra entitled “Awareness invites Awareness: A Meditative Way of Being Together,” she wrote:

Presence invites presence when there is no resistance, no ownership of ideas, experiences or things, no worrying, no hurrying, no judging, no defending—just the ease of life when we meet without wanting things to be otherwise. Certainly we all can participate; presence is free and available to all of us. There is a true beauty in this.

Following a 25 minute sitting, there will be a recorded talk by Springwater Center's founder, Toni Packer, 

Following the talk and a short break there will be an opportunity to dialogue with other participants. The program will end at approximately 4 p.m.
