Mardi Gras Season

Carnival is officially underway, and with it comes increased activity around the uptown and downtown campuses. Tulane has several university services and safety measures that will be in place during the busiest days.

Trash Pickup

Tulane Facilities will sponsor their annual Mardi Gras trash collection on Broadway St. from Willow St. to St. Charles Ave. every day from Wednesday, Feb. 11, through Wednesday, Feb. 18. The trash contractor will collect bagged trash and bulk items. Due to city regulations, trash cannot be collected from city cans.

TUPD

The Tulane University Police Department (TUPD) will be present throughout the uptown patrol perimeter and will take any safety precautions as needed during Mardi Gras activities. For immediate assistance, please contact TUPD directly at 504-865-5911. To report a concern or incident involving Tulane students, please use the online report form.

NROTC Drill Meet in Yulman Stadium

Tulane University will host the annual Mardi Gras Navy ROTC Drill Meet on the uptown campus on Friday, Feb. 13, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Midshipmen will participate in the drill using dummy rifles with no live ammunition. This is a quiet event, and we will utilize minimal lighting to accommodate set-up and breakdown during non-daylight hours.

Tulane Special Collections Pop-Up Exhibit

Tulane University Special Collections will host a pop-up exhibit on Wednesday, Feb. 11, from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 430 of the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library. The exhibit will feature unique Carnival materials from the archives, including original float designs, court regalia, ball invitations, vintage throws and photographs, with treats and giveaways available. All are welcome.

Online Concern Report Form

Tulane has a centralized online report form for complaints and concerns, which is the primary, and preferred, method for submitting any report of concern about a student's behavior, including but not limited to conduct that may violate the Code of Student Conduct.

This system allows for efficient routing of concerns to the appropriate office, as well as tracking follow-through on those concerns. Neighbors are welcome to file complaints or concerns using the online system and should select "Neighborhood Relations Concern" under the "Type of Concern."
