Year in Review: UCO Ranked as a Top Institution by The Wall Street Journal, Niche |
UCO was named a top institution in America’s Best Colleges 2025 Wall Street Journal ranking, as well as Niche’s 2025 Best Colleges list.
In the Wall Street Journal’s list, in collaboration with Statista and College Pulse, Central improved its ranking for social mobility among the top 500 institutions in the country and is one of only five institutions ranked in Oklahoma. UCO was also the top-ranked public institution in Oklahoma for student experience.
In Niche’s 2025 Best Colleges list, UCO was named a top public university in Oklahoma, claiming the number four spot. UCO was also ranked No. 110 out of 1,373 institutions on the Best College Campuses in America list.

Fourteen UCO students from the German, professional teacher education and the educational sciences, foundations and research programs traveled to Germany this May with Sophia Clark, Ph.D., assistant professor of modern languages, Alissa Crawford, Ph.D., associate professor of educational sciences, foundations and research, and Alicia Welch, Ph.D., assistant professor of educational sciences, foundations and research. The tour, titled "Culture and Memory in Germany," traveled to Heidelberg, Frankfurt, Mainz, Berchtesgaden, Berlin and K-12 schools at Ramstein Air Base.

In 2009, the Oklahoma City Thunder donated essential lab equipment to UCO's athletic training program, the MegaPulse II Shortwave Diathermy and the Precision Micro Current Electrical Muscle Simulator.
