| Due to heat, garbage and recycling collection may start earlier than normal this week. Please put your carts out the night before.
On very hot days, waste collection drivers may start picking up earlier than 6 am. The City allows companies to pick up early on very hot days to protect the drivers. Learn more.

It's hot and dry out there, friends. A summer burn ban is now in effect – this means no campfires, fire pits, or agricultural burning until further notice.
- Outdoor barbecuing using grills or smokers is still allowed but use extreme caution.
- Gresham no longer allows backyard burning without a permit.

Our transportation crews remind drivers to slow down and never pass road striping trucks. Fresh paint dries quickly, but crossing wet lines can ruin reflectivity, reduce safety – and coat your tires in paint. Want to avoid smears? Brush up on striping safety.
