As we shared recently, Colorado College is launching an Institutional Review to help us better understand how our resources—our people, funds, technology, and physical spaces—are aligned with our mission and strategic priorities. I’m pleased to share that, following a thorough selection process, we have engaged the consulting firm Baker Tilly to lead this work.
Baker Tilly is a nationally recognized firm with deep expertise in organizational assessment, operational effectiveness, and resource alignment across higher education. They proposed a comprehensive methodology emphasizing transparency, collaboration, and broad campus participation. The selection committee was encouraged by their commitment to engaging all areas of the College, ensuring the resulting recommendations reflect institutional priorities and the lived realities of the CC community.
Baker Tilly’s diverse review team brings experience that complements the strengths we already have on our campus, and their objective perspective will help us gain clarity in an increasingly challenging higher education landscape.
Colorado College currently works with Baker Tilly for tax, audit, and advisory services. This familiarity means they understand our operations and our context. However, it’s important to note that the team conducting the Institutional Review is part of Baker Tilly’s consulting arm, which is operationally separate from the divisions that support our work in the financial space.
