Attracting and Cooperating: Best Practices for Tradition Eleven
|
During National Recovery Month, observed each September in the US and Canada, and International Recovery Day, celebrated globally on September 30, consider reaching out to families and friends affected by someone else’s alcoholism and offering a message of hope. Whether by sharing literature at a community event, connecting with local professionals, or ensuring meeting information is current online, even small efforts can make a difference.

What Keeps You Coming Back?
|
When did you decide that Al‑Anon was right for you, and what has kept you coming back? Did the decision come as a moment of clarity, or did it grow slowly through shared experience, strength, hope, and gentle understanding? We invite you to reflect on your journey, or to share on one or more of our Legacies. This month features Step Nine, Tradition Nine, and Concept Nine.
Sharings on the Member Blog may be used in future Al‑Anon publications.
New topics are being added each month!
|
“There are many reasons, but I think the initial one was the connection I made with people who opened their hearts by sharing their trials and struggles, past and present. When I first came to Al‑Anon, I didn’t know what to expect, but I quickly found something I hadn’t experienced before…”

Serve on a WSO Committee!
|
The World Service Office (WSO) needs your experience, strength, and hope. Have you considered serving as an At‑Large member on a WSO Volunteer Committee? These Committees help provide direction regarding our Conference Approved Literature, major public outreach projects, and which sharings to include in The Forum, as well as oversee our annual audit.
At‑Large members must have at least five years of continuous Al‑Anon experience to serve. Submit your résumé by October 29, 2026.

The Forum Needs Your Sharings about Our Three Legacies!
|
Please consider writing about one of the Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, or Twelve Concepts of Service, as your World Service Office receives very few sharings about them. Submissions can range from about 200 to 400 words.
NOTE: Submissions in Spanish or French must be accompanied by an English translation. Submit sharings online, or to wso@al-anon.org, or send your articles to The Forum, 1600 Corporate Landing Parkway, Virginia Beach, VA 23454‑5617.
