Growing up, we watch the people who guide and love us, quietly learning from their words, gestures and values. There’s a special beauty in seeing those lessons reflected back, a reminder that love leaves a legacy in the footsteps that follow.
Morgan B. Moszee Millsap, BSN '08, is the daughter of a proud UIW alumna—her mother, Jacqueline Moszee Ford, BSN '96. Watching her mother graduate from the nursing program in 1996 inspired Millsap to follow in her footsteps and pursue a nursing career of her own. Choosing UIW felt natural; she was drawn to the University’s strong reputation for nursing excellence and its warm, close‑knit community. The growing track and field program was the cherry on top, offering her the perfect opportunity to compete as a student‑athlete while earning her degree.
Millsap began her journey at UIW with a clear goal: to become an ICU nurse, caring for the most critically ill patients. She was drawn to a career that would challenge her, demand quick and critical thinking and allow her to make meaningful, life‑impacting decisions in high‑acuity situations.
During her time at UIW, Millsap was guided by dedicated faculty, staff and coaches who helped shape both her academic and personal growth. Some of her fondest memories come from being deeply involved on campus. Alongside the demands of nursing school, she ran track, served as a resident assistant and worked in the student center. These experiences strengthened her leadership and deepened her connection to the UIW community.
From having her mother present at her nursing pinning ceremony to seeing her father cheer at every track meet, Millsap’s UIW journey was filled with moments that left a lasting impact. She graduated in 2008 not just with a degree, but with mentors, experiences and memories that continue to influence her life and career.
Thanks to her strong foundation at UIW, she first secured an ICU position, an essential step toward becoming a CRNA, before earning her nurse anesthesia degree at the University of New England in Portland, Maine. Today, Millsap is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) practicing anesthesia in Atlanta, Georgia, for nearly 13 years.
Throughout her career, Millsap has worked across a wide variety of clinical settings, trained student nurse anesthetists, mentored aspiring professionals and even provided anesthesia alongside leading Atlanta-based African American plastic surgeons featured on the Lifetime docuseries Atlanta Plastic.
Outside of her career, Millsap enjoys practicing self‑care, cheering on her children at their sports and activities, and traveling with her family to explore new places and cultures. She is also the owner of Refined Touch Aesthetics and Wellness, a business that allows her to blend her nursing expertise with her passion for helping people look and feel their best.
