PURIM EXTRAVAGANZA RSVP
Last Friday, we celebrated Rosh Chodesh Adar - the first day of the Hebrew month of Adar, which is known for being a time of joy and celebration in the Jewish calendar. Each class brought joy and school spirit by dressing in their class colors for a festive dress-down day. With Shabbat music and guitar led by Morah Rebecca, the energy was contagious! We also welcomed home some very special Shabbat guests: Moreh Shlomi and Morah Riki Netanel!
This week, our Early Childhood students have been showing off their creativity, enthusiasm, and school spirit during EC Spirit Week! We’re celebrating Read Across America Week in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday, inspiring a lifelong love of reading in our youngest learners. Reading is the foundation of learning, sparking imagination, building language skills, and opening doors to endless possibilities. By fostering a love of books early on, we help our students develop curiosity, empathy, and a strong academic foundation.

Reminder: Tomorrow is the grand finale of Early Childhood Spirit Week - Tiny Tots - EC 4 students should come dressed as your favorite Dr. Seuss character!

Support your child’s love of reading by visiting Addlestone's (People of the) Book Fair from March 17-21! Help grow your home or classroom library. Save the dates, volunteer, and don’t miss your chance to inspire young readers.
(PEOPLE OF THE) BOOK FAIR
Our fourth graders put their math skills to the test in a "Math Mapping" activity, applying decimals, problem-solving, and word problem creation. Using given distance criteria, they designed maps and crafted their own mathematical challenges - integrating addition, subtraction, and multiplication of decimals. Hands-on learning at its best!
Our seventh and eighth graders participated in a Socratic discussion of S.E. Hinton's, The Outsiders! Through open-ended questions and thoughtful dialogue, they explored themes, symbols, and character insights: building critical thinking and communication skills along the way.

Aviva noted that Ponyboy and Cherry watching the same sunset symbolizes their connection, showing that despite their differences, the Socs and Greasers share common experiences. Eleanor pointed out that the story of Sodapop and Mickey Mouse illustrates how easily things can be taken away, just like the loss of his parents. Gabi made a real-world connection, recognizing that the Greasers act tough as a form of protection, something that still applies today.

This type of discussion encourages our students to think deeply, listen actively, and express their ideas with confidence!

After over six months of dedicated studying, our 5th and 6th graders completed Parshat Shemot and marked the occasion with a Siyum (a special celebration held upon finishing a significant portion of Torah study.) Students shared inspiring insights from their learning and enjoyed delicious treats, embodying Addlestone’s commitment to academic and spiritual excellence.
