Collecting Feedback from Students DURING the Semester |
Although the University automatically collects student course feedback at the end of the semester, sometimes you want to know how things are going before the class ends. You have an opportunity to collect mid-semester feedback from your students. By default, your courses will not receive a mid-semester survey.
If you want mid-semester feedback, please follow these steps:
- What do you like about the course?
- What aspects of the course would you like to see changed? How?
- What does the instructor do to help you learn?
- What could the instructor do to improve or increase learning opportunities in this class?
If you opt-in for mid-semester feedback, your students will receive an emailed link to access the survey on the survey start date. Students can also log in with their uNID and CIS password at scf.utah.edu.
You will receive the results of the mid-semester survey the day after the survey end date. The results of mid-semester surveys are confidential to you, the instructor. Your department will not have access to mid-semester results.

University Professorship – Funding Opportunity |
The University of Utah’s University Professorship is a special rank that recognizes tenure-line faculty who have demonstrated extraordinary skills in teaching, distinguished scholarship in their field, and an interdisciplinary approach to undergraduate instruction. The University Professorship provides time and funding for faculty to launch new Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) projects related to general education courses. We highlight general education courses with this award because they have broad impact across disciplines and can make significant differences in our efforts to provide exceptional educational experiences for students. University Professors hold this special rank for two years. The application cycle for the 2025-27 University Professorship is now open. For more information, see the University Professorship website. Apply by December 2, 2024.
