   SIBLING DAY   

The 14th annual UNT Sibling Day is set for Saturday, Feb. 28. It’s a day full of activities where you and your siblings can have some bonding time and enjoy your North Texas home! There’s something for everyone, including a scavenger hunt, Pohl Rec Center fun, a meal ticket to the dining hall, free passes for the Sky Theater, and tickets for your siblings to the Mean Green women’s basketball game against USF (UNT students can reserve their own tickets at UNTtix.com). Registration is $40 per sibling and $16 for an additional UNT student. Register online and check out the schedule. 

 

   CLOSE TO HOME   

If you are looking for a place to live for the 2026-27 school year, head to the UNT Off-Campus Housing Fair. With dozens of off-campus housing representatives, you are bound to find the place that is right for you! Drop by the fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, on the University Union South Lawn.

   RUN FOR OFFICE   

Applications for president, vice president and senator for the UNT Student Government Association are now open. If you are interested, make sure you apply by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, March 4. After you apply, you have the opportunity to campaign from Monday, March 16, until Thursday, April 2. Voting opens Monday, March 30, and runs through Thursday, April 2.

There also are Student Senate spots open for multiple colleges within UNT. Visit the Student Senate page to see what spots are open and if you’re eligible. Applications for these positions are due Sunday, Feb. 22. Follow UNT SGA on Instagram for updates.

 

   PREPARATION IS KEY   

UNT has been selected as one of the eight institutions to participate in Arizona State University’s new Work-Integrated Learning Accelerator. This accelerator will develop new work experience opportunities to help students prepare for future employment.

As a participant, UNT is creating a pilot program in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences that will offer students new opportunities to connect classroom learning directly with the realities of today’s workforce.

   AMAZING AUTHORS   

The Visiting Writers Series has returned for another semester. The UNT Department of English welcomes award-winning author Mark Haber to campus for a Q&A, reading and book signing. His latest work, Lesser Ruins, also will be available for sale at the event. The Q&A session starts at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, in Curry Hall, Room 103, and the reading and book signing will start at 8 p.m. in the University Union, Room 332.

   FRISCO CAREER FAIR   

Don’t miss the opportunity to get a jumpstart on your career at the Frisco Career Fair, open to all majors. From 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Frisco Landing, you can explore career opportunities, meet and network with area employers and connect with your peers. Make sure you bring multiple copies of your resume and dress in business attire. See the Career Center’s full schedule for other upcoming career fairs and networking events.

Attention, UNT creatives! Applications to be a vendor at the upcoming UNT Art Mart are due Sunday, March 1. Whether you want to show off your art, grow a small business or connect with students who have a similar passion, it is the perfect opportunity to showcase your talents. There is no fee to table at the event, so make sure you register and come out to the Art Mart from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, on the Library Mall!
