Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration
Last week, Emory's Hindu community celebrated the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi in Cannon Chapel. This festival celebrates Lord Ganesha, god of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles. The program opened with an introduction to the festival and was followed by a puja, or hospitality ritual, performed by each person towards the deity. Over 85 Emory community members from all around campus came to participate in the festivities and partake in the prasad, or blessed sweets offering, toward the end. Many thanks to the Hindu Students Association for hosting this beautiful event.
To see more photos from the event, visit the OSRL Facebook page.
