Happy Presidents' Week

We are halfway through one of our busiest weeks of the season. It’s been a great week so far and we appreciate all the hard work. A big shout out to all those who helped our Scanning Team and worked the lift mazes assisting with mask enforcement. These roles are critical to the success of our resort operation. With your help we were able to provide a fun and safe experience through the weekend, the amazing snow conditions didn’t hurt either!

We’re in the middle of a 3-week bump in business. In addition to Presidents' Week, traditionally we’ve seen a nice bump in business the week before. This year not only did we see the bump the week before, we’re also seeing a nice bump for the following week, Saturday 2/20 through Friday 2/26. We’re seeing strong reservations in both group and private lessons. While Tuesday’s snowstorm turned into more of the classic Vermont “wintery mix”, we’re expecting snowfall Thursday and Friday which should make for a great weekend of skiing and riding.

Please continue to practice physical distancing, hand washing, and mask-wearing each day. Please be mindful of grouping up too closely during line-ups and check-outs. Whenever you see guests in compliance with these guidelines, you can take the opportunity to thank them for helping us remain open for the whole season. Thank you for your help in ensuring we remain open safely.

Child Abuse Recognition

As an instructor working on the mountain with children, you have an important responsibility to know how to recognize the signs of child abuse and how to report child abuse if you suspect it. Child abuse is a difficult topic to face head-on and it's easier to assume it doesn't happen here. Nationwide statistics show that a report of child abuse is made every 10 seconds in the U.S. Use this video as a refresher and if you have any questions, please reach out to your supervisor or manager.

Milk Runs

We’re really excited to continue offering Milk Runs out of both base areas this Saturday at 7:30 am. This is a great chance to get out before our guests, get some training, enjoy some sweet corduroy and check out the conditions for the day. It’s a win, win, win, win! Come shred the stunt ditch with AASI National Team Member Amy Gan Bailey. Amy will be leading a halfpipe clinic here on Monday 2/22 from 9 am-4 pm. This is an elective clinic and there are limited spots available. Secure your spot to ride with a National Team Member by clicking the link below.

Epic By Nature - We Are Part of the Problem

Our company is on a journey to foster a culture that embodies our newest value, Be Inclusive. This episode of Epic By Nature explores the journey of several members of our company who are Black, Indigenous, or other People of Color. Their stories are all unique, their journeys very much their own... What was their path to our company? What were some of the challenges and barriers they faced? How have they overcome them and what do they think needs to change as we continue on our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion journey?   

In honor of Black History Month, you can also read about Black leaders creating a more inclusive outdoor recreation community and industry here. Each week different leaders are featured, first was Alaskan downhiller, Andre Horton who is the first Black skier on the U.S. Alpine Ski Team. Followed most recently by Judith Kasiama, an entrepreneur and diversity advocate who founded Colour the Trails.
