UTA celebrates Hispanic culture and influence
|
|
|
Aerospace engineering student Austen Smith first reached the highest levels of shooting sports when she competed at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Three years later at the 2024 Paris Games, she claimed her first Olympic medals, earning bronze in women’s skeet shooting and silver in mixed team skeet shooting.

UTA has opened a new late-night study space for students in the breezeway area connecting Hammond Hall and Trimble Hall. The area, equipped with furniture and Wi-Fi, will be open 2 a.m.-7 a.m. or any time the libraries are closed. Students will need to use their Mav ID to swipe to enter the facility for late-night access.

Undergraduate researcher wins state honor
|
Jenny Hoang, a senior majoring in biological chemistry, received the third-place award at the 2024 University of Texas System Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) conference. Hoang was among nine students from UTA, Tarrant County College, and Tyler Junior College who participated in the LSAMP Summer Research Academy with faculty at UTA.

The Texas Energy Summit invites students to submit a poster to the Malcolm Verdict Memorial Student Poster Competition on topics like sustainable communities, clean energy policy, smart buildings, and more. Registration is free to students, and there is a $1,000 prize for winners. The deadline for abstracts is Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Photos and footage gathered for the campaign will be used in University marketing materials, including print ads, billboards, websites, social media, and videos. If you participate, you will receive copies of the photos for your personal use.
