Sac State receives $5.9 million to grow service learning fellowship
Over the past two years, more than 200 Sacramento State students have served their communities as #CaliforniansForAll College Corps fellows. Now, the University has received new funding that will allow it to launch its own version of the statewide program, giving even more students the opportunity to earn money and grow their professional skills while giving back.
Under the Sacramento State College Corps program, students can earn $10,000 in exchange for 450 hours of service to a community organization. The new program will fund 180 fellowships a year, for two years, up from 120 this year under the statewide program.
“As the Sacramento State College Corps, students will be making an impact on the Sacramento region,” said Richard Angulo, who handles the program’s marketing and recruitment.
