Update on Donations and Volunteerism in Western North Carolina

County Emergency Operations Centers in Western North Carolina report that while they are tremendously grateful for outpouring of donated goods, their donations centers are now full and they cannot take any additional items. Please see the following page for ways to support hurricane relief moving forward.

Ways to Help:

donations
  • Businesses with donations should connect with the State Business Emergency Operations Center via email at beoc@ncdps.gov.
  • Community members should continue to provide cash donations to reputable voluntary agencies or the state disaster fund.
  • People who want to volunteer should connect with a voluntary agency active in disaster (VOAD). These groups are plugged in with local and State emergency management to ensure a coordinated response.
  • Many hospitals lost supplies of blood/blood products during power outages. Help NC stay ahead of potential shortages by donating blood today.
    • UNC Health’s Blood Donation Center (platelets)
    • American Red Cross Blood Donation Center
