Just a little movement can lift your mood
|
Feeling sluggish? A new UTA study finds that swapping 30 minutes of sitting for light activity may boost energy and mood the next day.
Why it matters: UTA kinesiology Professor Yue Liao found that it doesn't take going to the gym or doing intense exercise to feel better. Just sitting less and moving more can make an immediate impact on your mood.
By the numbers: Recent studies found that 38% of U.S. adults sit nine or more hours a day. Replacing even a portion of that time can pay off in meaningful and noticeable ways.
Read more about the study here.
