Wear UTA blue tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 26, in support of the UTA men's basketball team, as the Mavericks take on Grand Canyon University at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at College Park Center. With presentation of a Mav ID, UTA faculty and staff can receive up to four free tickets to watch UTA basketball go head-to-head with the No. 1 mid-major basketball team in the nation.

Broadcast production studio renovations planned
|
A gift of $500,000 from the Amon G. Carter Foundation will help provide students at UTA with a renovated broadcast production studio. The larger space will include upgraded equipment, an area for a corporate set, and a green screen. The renovated studio will move from the fourth floor in the Fine Arts Building to a suite on the first floor.

| Political Science Haggard Lecture
|
As a part of the Political Science Haggard Lecture Series and in collaboration with the Center for Mexican American Studies, David de la Fuente will give a lecture on “How to Land a Good Job in a Political Campaign,” Wednesday, Jan. 31, 12-2 p.m. in the University Hall, Room 110. UTA baseball will play Texas Tech as part of the College Baseball Series on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 6 p.m. at Globe Life Field. Purchase tickets and parking passes. The following day, Globe Life Field will also host Oregon State University vs. Texas Tech University and Oklahoma State University vs. Abilene Christian University.

Global Seal of Biliteracy
|
UTA students who speak a language in addition to English can test their proficiency to receive the Global Seal of Biliteracy, a micro-credential that conveys language proficiency. The test is offered in more than 40 languages through the Department of Modern Languages. Email proficiency@uta.edu for more information.

| Outstanding Student Leadership Nominations

Nominate students for Outstanding Student Leader (OSL) Awards by filling out a nomination form that takes five minutes or less to complete. Nominations are due Monday, Feb. 5. All UTA faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to nominate students who have demonstrated leadership skills and made a lasting impact on the UTA community. Camp Arlington at UTA is offering a summer day camp to children ages 3-5 and to those entering first through fifth grade. Kidventure’s camp curriculum will include athletics, art, team building, rock climbing, archery, field trips, special guests, yoga, and fine and gross motor skills. Priority Registration will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, for UTA faculty only. The tuition cost for each week of camp is $340 with discounts for two or more children in the same family, UTA faculty members, and AISD teachers.
