The GVSU Board of Trustees will hold a meeting on Friday, July 11 from 11 a.m.–Noon at the Kirkhof Center (Allendale Campus).

Save the date for this year's Faculty & Staff Fall Kickoff Celebration, commemorating the beginning of a new academic year. This year's celebration will be held on Wednesday, August 20, at the L. William Seidman Center (Pew Campus) from 4-7 p.m.

Grand Valley leaders and others in West Michigan are celebrating the life of Michael Ellis, who died on May 29, 2025. He was 63 years old.

Grand Valley and the Peter Secchia Military and Veterans Resource Center will receive an education innovator award from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) on Friday, May 9. The award honors the center's virtual Hug-a-GI campaign, which aimed to bring the GVSU community together to honor student veterans. It was the center's second year running the campaign.

Jesse Bernal, vice president for Strategy and chief of staff to the President, was named the new president of Western Connecticut State University in Danbury. His first day there will be July 11.

Grand Valley State's Board of Trustees approved tuition and room and board rates for 2025-2026, maintaining the university’s position as one of the state’s best values in higher education. The university's board approved tuition and fee increases of 4.7%. 

After the second year competing together at the 2025 College Classic National Championship, the Grand Valley Laker Dance and Cheer teams are returning with several new national titles.

“While the performances themselves were memorable, what stood out most was the journey that led us there,” said Emma Desiderio, head dance coach and spirit program manager.

The Retiree Advisory Board serve as advisors in partnership with Human Resources on retiree initiatives. The board meets once per quarter with HR to share ideas and help with the planning of retiree initiatives.
