Orange County offers early voting to all eligible, registered Orange County voters who wish to vote early, in-person. Those who missed the registration deadline may register and vote during the early voting period with proof of residency.

Orange County offers absentee voting by mail to all registered Orange County voters who wish to vote by mail rather than at a one-stop early voting site or on Election Day.

If you decide to vote on election day, Tuesday, March 3, you must vote at your assigned polling place. To find out your assigned polling place and view a sample ballot on Election Day, use the Voter Search Tool.

Register to Vote Now Through Feb. 6 |
The voter registration deadline is Feb. 6. Voters who miss this deadline may still register and vote in person at any early voting site.

Request Your Mail-In Ballot Now through Feb. 17 |
|
|
Any North Carolina registered voter may request and receive a mail-in absentee ballot. No special circumstance is needed. You may request your absentee ballot NOW through Feb. 17 for the March 3, 2026, election!
A registered voter or their near relative or legal guardian must complete, sign and return the request form.

Early Voting from Feb. 12 through Feb. 28 |
Election day is Tuesday, March 3, but you can vote early if that is more convenient. The early voting period begins on Thursday, Feb. 12, and runs through Saturday, Feb. 28. Orange County residents can vote at any early voting site.

Early voting is available from Thursday, Feb. 12 to Saturday, Feb. 28. Polls will be open:

- Weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Closed Feb. 15)
- Sundays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. (Closed Feb. 21)

Want a free photo ID for voting purposes? Come out for Voter ID Saturday on Feb. 14 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Or you may visit the Board of Elections office Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
