Lee Moves On: Longtime Cumulus/Topeka, KS OM Amber Lee has left the company. Her six-station oversight included KTOP, where she rose to PD in 2014 (CAT 5/30/14). Previous stops include OM for Great Plains Media/Lawrence, KS; mornings at KAWO/Boise, ID; and mornings on KSYN/Joplin, MO. In a social media post, Lee wrote, "I’m out like a bad song in rotation ... The Bureau of Labor Statistics says the median tenure for professionals in radio broadcasting is 3.8 years. So, reaching almost 12 years with a single employer is a remarkable feat ... Benefit News: WQDR/Raleigh raised more than $46,000 for UNC Children’s Hospital with its annual Acoustic Christmas for the Kids concert last night (12/10). Performers included Brothers Osborne, Shane Profitt, Preston Cooper and Vincent Mason.
Lady A's LadyAID and Cornerstone Building Brands are donating $50,000 in windows and vinyl siding to Habitat for Humanity's Rockford, IL affiliate to assist with affordable housing in the community. Cornerstone is also contributing $10k to support LadyAID's charity initiatives.
Saga/Jonesboro, AR, which includes Country KDXY, helped AT&T distribute 110 refurbished laptops intended for use by underpriviliged students to local after-school program City Youth Ministries. The charity was suggested to AT&T by Saga/Jonesboro Pres./GM Trey Stafford.
