ANNOUNCEMENTS 
Pep Assembly Update
With the 2:35 p.m. early dismissal on Friday, Nov. 21 to allow students to travel to Cedar Falls for the football game, the Winter Sports Assembly has been rescheduled for Jan. 9. All winter athletes and activities will recognized during this assembly. Fall sports teams will now be celebrated on Dec. 2 at 2:35 p.m., with championship teams receiving special recognition.
Thanksgiving Break
There will be no school Nov. 26-28 for Thanksgiving break. 
Giving Tuesday
Be a pillar and support the Maroon Fund on #GivingTuesday, Dec. 2! Every gift strengthens our three pillars, providing the resources and support students need to succeed: Academic Excellence, Student & Faith Life, and School Services. Reminder: Fall Service Hour Deadline is Dec. 1
Fall service hours and reflection essays are due right after Thanksgiving break! Please encourage your students to submit their hours as soon as they are complete so they can be verified by the deadline. Paper prompts and service hour opportunities are available for students in OnCampus. 
Senior Photos
Please submit senior photos for the yearbook by Dec. 1 to yearbook@dowlingcatholic.org. Photos must be: vertical,
a headshot (waist or neck up), with no 
props (hats, equipment, etc.).
Chick-fil-A Bottle Drive
Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy is hosting a drive Dec. 1-12 to collect bottles/cans from to raise funds to help those whose SNAP benefits were impacted by the government shutdown. 
Festival of Trees & Lights
Students in Art of Service, Textile Arts, Art Club and Clay Club are creating ornaments and decorating a tree for the Festival of Trees & Lights, the largest fundraiser for Blank Children's Hospital. Their fully decorated tree—including $250 in restaurant gift cards—will be available to bid on in the auction. The Festival runs Nov. 28–29 from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. and Nov. 30 from 11 a.m.–5 p.m.

The ofrenda will be on display during school hours through Friday, Nov. 21 at 2:30 p.m.
Winter Play 
The Performing Arts Department will present The Twelve Huntsmen on Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. and Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 and available to purchase online
Christmas Baskets
The Christmas Baskets program is led by the senior class and is one of the largest school-wide service projects. This year, DCHS is supporting 94 families from Moulton Elementary and Holy Family with gifts, groceries, and household essentials. We are also providing a gift for each of the 495 Moulton students. Families may donate online or send gifts to school with their student.
 
Volunteer Opportunity 
We are seeking volunteers to help lead the 2026 Bash! The Bash is more than just an auction; it’s a celebration of our community and fuels the purpose behind our mission - our students. Click HERE for more information about the committee roles we’re seeking to fill.
Winter Formal
This year's Winter Formal will be for students in grades 10–12, including sophomores for the first time. Date: Jan. 31, 2026. Location: TBA. 
Talent Show
DCHS is bringing back the talent show! Auditions will be held Jan. 15 and 16 from 3:45-5:45 p.m., with a performance on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. Students can sign up for auditions after Christmas Break with Mrs. Raymond in room 1001.

Nonpublic Transportation Reimbursement
Families who live more than three miles one-way from DCHS may be eligible for a nonpublic transportation reimbursement. Forms must be submitted each semester (by Dec. 1 & May 1). Eligible families will receive one check following the end of the school year. Find instructions here.
