• Kim Conaty Hollely MA ’03 is the co-curator of “Edward Hopper’s New York,” a love letter to NYC on view through March 5 at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
• The London Symphony Orchestra records a piece inspired by the legend of the phoenix written by composer Daniel Perttu ’01.
• A rare recording of the musical Phinney’s Rainbow—written by composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim ’50 and performed at Williams in 1948—is found hidden in a bookshelf in Milwaukee, Wis. According to NPR, “The show told the story of students trying to turn a college much like Williams into Party Central and featured 25 songs” by Sondheim.
• Vickie Vértiz ’98 wins Notre Dame’s Ernest Sandeen Prize in Poetry. Her new book, Auto/Body—a collection of poems exploring the theme of rebuilding—releases in February 2023.
