Yanina Blanco (’24 MFA) has brought the rich history of Cartagena, Colombia, to life through innovative physical and digital exhibits. Her project, displayed at the Caribbean Naval Museum and available online through the MavMatrix institutional repository, tells a unique and engaging chapter of the city’s history.

As part of the RISE 100 initiative, a cluster hire presentation will be held today, Monday, Jan. 27, at 3 p.m. in Room 201 of the College of Architecture, Planning, and Public Affairs building. This strategic hiring effort aims to enhance interdisciplinary research and teaching across multiple departments, with a particular focus on sustainability and artificial intelligence. Faculty candidates will participate in a group presentation that is open to all faculty. Faculty are encouraged to participate in person or via Microsoft Teams to engage with the candidates and provide valuable feedback.

Reserving events at the UC

With the planned construction of the new University Center (UC), departments and organizations can continue to host events at the UC until fall 2025 homecoming week. The final day for departments to hold an event at the UC in the fall 2025 semester will be Saturday, Nov. 8, with homecoming starting Nov. 9. General request reservations through Mazevo will open Monday, April 7, to book space for summer and fall 2025 events.
