UTA student to compete in the Olympics
|
Aerospace engineering major Austen Smith will compete in the women's skeet shooting qualification round on Saturday, Aug. 3, with the final slated for Sunday, Aug. 4. Smith made her first Olympic appearance at 18 at the Tokyo Olympics in women's skeet and placed 10th overall.

| Volunteer for Move-In Day

Volunteer for Move-In Day to help welcome students to their new on-campus homes. Move-In Day for residence halls will be 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15. Volunteers will receive a free volunteer T-shirt for moving personal items into new students' rooms. Sign up for two-hour shifts by Monday, Aug. 12, 5 p.m.

New bus stop shelters designed by UTA students

Dallas Area Rapid Transit recently debuted new bus stop shelters to help people in the Dallas area be more comfortable as they wait for their bus. Students in the College of Architecture, Planning, and Public Affairs designed these bus shelters, WFAA reported.

If you conduct human subject research or would like to know more about the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process, attend the IRB Mini Conference virtually on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 1-4 p.m. Topics will include human-subject research, informed consent and recruitment, preparing an IRB submission, IRB review, and protecting human subjects' electronic data.
