Staff Council Haunted Tour: Oct. 24, 6:00 p.m.

Interested in learning about UMKC's darker history? Join resident historian Chris Wolff for the UMKC Staff Council Haunted Walking Tour with your comfortable shoes and nerves of steel. The event takes place Oct. 24 at 6:00 p.m (starting at the south entrance of the Atterbury Student Success Center).

The maximum amount of paranormal enthusiasts for this tour is 15 UMKC staff members. Register today to reserve your spot. All sign-ups beyond the first 15 staff members will be put on a wait list.

UMKC Employee Spirit week is a friendly week of competition and fun to encourage collaboration and engagement for all UMKC staff members. Events include:

Oct. 23: Kansas City Spirit Day - Celebrate UMKC Partnerships
Oct. 24: Department Spirit Day
Oct. 25: Roo Blue Friday
Oct. 26-27: Boo at the Zoo

Considering UMKC Graduate Programs: Oct. 29, 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Are you a staff member pondering graduate study at UMKC? Attend Staff Council Presents: Considering UMKC Graduate Programs on Oct. 29, 3:00 p.m - 4:30 p.m. The event will be held in Student Union 302 and virtually.

Presenters will review UMKC graduate programs, information on the admissions process, and details on the UM System Tuition Assistance program. This event will also feature a Q&A from staff who have completed or are completing UMKC graduate programs, addressing life as a UMKC student and staff member. Select graduate programs will also table to share information and answer individual questions. Register today.

Virtual Halloween Costume Content: Deadline Nov. 4

UMKC Staff Council Engagement Committee invites staff to join our virtual costume contest. Submit a selfie of you in your Halloween costume for the chance to win a prize. Put on your best a-"scare"-el and submit your photos to staffcouncil@umkc.edu by Nov. 4 to enter.

UMKC Giving Day 2025: Video extras needed on Oct. 23, 9:00 a.m.

Calling all students, faculty, staff, and alumni! Help us promote UMKC Giving Day 2025. Be an extra in the Giving Day video shoot, taking place Oct. 23, 9:00 a.m., University Walkway (outside Atterbury Student Success Center).

Wear business casual or UMKC gear, and help us show our support for UMKC students in a large-group video shoot and drone shot. Smile, wave, and cheer our students on. Pastries will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

All are welcome at UMKC Staff Council meetings. Meetings generally occur the first Wednesday of every month (unless otherwise noted), from 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in-person and via Zoom. Our Fall 2024 meeting schedule includes:

Nov. 6, Bloch Heritage Hall (BHH), Room 006, Zoom Link
Dec. 4, Bloch Heritage Hall (BHH), Room 006, Zoom Link. Please note: Chancellor Agrawal will now be attending the Dec. 4 Staff Council meeting, instead of the Nov. meeting.
