Patricia Aufderheide was one of 11 amici in the amicus curiae brief filed by NYU's School of Law legal clinic, in the Hachette et al v. Internet Archive case, now on appeal. In this case, publishers sued the Internet Archive for offering digital versions of books to patrons during the pandemic. The brief supports the Internet Archive's arguments that it is a. noncommercial library and that its controlled digital lending has a purpose that does not conflict with commercial ebook licensing.

It's a new look at a familiar artist: Edward Hopper. His work is instantly recognizable (Nighthawks) and his influence is everywhere. But Hopper's career didn't take flight until he met his future wife, Josephine, who was his model, marketer and muse in a volatile marriage. The final University College newsletter of the semester announced that the co-curricular activity hosted by Kurt Braddock for his class, Disinformation and Conspiracy Theories, had the highest turnout of all UC co-curricular activities held during the Fall 2023 semester. For this activity, Kurt arranged to have one session of his class to be held at Comet Ping Pong Pizza, where he discussed the Pizzagate conspiracy (and potentially pursuing a major in SOC) with about 70 students over a pizza dinner.
Congratulations to PC seniors Scarlett Wedergren and Kyra Benzing Plourde for receiving the PRSA National Chapter's Outstanding PRSSA Service Awards for demonstrating significant leadership qualities within their local PRSSA Chapters. Kyra is president of the AU Chapter and Scarlett serves as the Vice-President.
Gemma Puglisi was a finalist for the "Communicator of the Year" award from Ragan PR Daily. She received an Honorable Mention at the awards ceremony at the National Press Club on Friday, December 15th.
Jacob Fields, Robyn Liss, Anna Jamison and William Marley, students in Bill Gentile’s Complex Problems class "Why We Fight," seized the opportunity to work with a well-known colleague and book designer friend of Bill’s, to publish their first books, which are available on Amazon. They called the project, "My First Book."
