Will Ryan ’22, a cross country and track & field athlete at the University of Iowa, has launched Hawks Supporting Hawks, a new initiative that brings together Hawkeye student-athletes, families, and community members to support children and families facing serious challenges. Inspired by his own experience as a former patient, Will continues to give back by volunteering regularly at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
Will’s commitment to service has earned significant recognition. He is a recipient of the Jackie Robinson Community Impact Award, an honor presented to Big Ten student-athletes who make meaningful contributions to their communities while excelling in competition.
He was also selected as one of just 20 student-athletes nationwide for the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team, which honors individuals who go above and beyond in volunteerism and civic engagement. Will has contributed more than 100 volunteer hours—most of them at the Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Learn more about his fundraising efforts here.

ON CAMPUS
Christmas Baskets Through our Christmas Baskets program, Dowling Catholic is supporting 94 families from Moulton Elementary and Holy Family with gifts, groceries, and household essentials. This cherished tradition was brought to Dowling Catholic by the BVM sisters from St. Joseph Academy, and continues to make a meaningful impact in our community. You can help our students carry on this legacy. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated and goes directly to helping families in need. Visit our website to contribute today.
Giving Tuesday Be a pillar and support the Maroon Fund on Dec. 2 for #GivingTuesday! Every gift strengthens our three pillars, providing the resources and support our students need to succeed: Academic Excellence, Student & Faith Life, and School Services! We have a goal to raise $20K in one day—and every gift makes a difference! Text Maroon to 53-555 or donate online!
