Noelle Kerr ’21, OTD’23 published an article in OT Practice, the journal of the American Occupational Therapy Association. The article, titled, “Sports-related concussion management: A functional approach,” details the conclusions of Kerr’s doctoral capstone at Puget Sound, where she collaborated with former Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine Craig Bennett to examine the role of occupational therapy in post-concussion recovery for student-athletes. The article is available to members of AOTA.

Go Fish

Our Summer Academic Challenge students recently toured the Puyallup Fish Hatchery, where over 700,000 Chinook are raised each year to aid in salmon recovery. Since 1995, Puget Sound's tuition-free Summer Academic Challenge program has provided enrichment for hundreds of Tacoma middle and high school students, giving participants an opportunity to work on collaborative projects in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics that connect to real-world issues.
