Tulsa Time: Griffin Media will swap the call letters of KVOO/Tulsa and Classic Country sister KXBL on Jan. 5, according to an FCC filing. The move puts the heritage KVOO calls on the Classic Country station, while the KXBL calls go to "98.5 The Bull," which has used that slogan since 2020 (CAT 12/7/20). The KVOO calls have been on 98.5 since 1988, but have a century old history in the market having been on AM 1170 from 1925 to 2002. The 99.5 signal has carried the KXBL calls since 2001, when it was known as "The Bull" before shifting to Classic Country as "Big Country" in 2003.
