Dr. William Acree, a professor of analytical chemistry, associate chair and graduate advisor, has earned the 2026 Council on Undergraduate Research Goldwater Scholars Faculty Mentor Award. He becomes the second UNT professor to earn the award, making the university the first to have multiple recipients.
Dr. Acree has taught at UNT since 1988, and many of his students have won national awards, including 10 Goldwater Scholarships, and have gone on to prestigious science universities. Read his story to learn how he builds a sense of community with his students.

Heads up, Eagles! Parking permits go on sale starting at 8 a.m. Monday, June 15. Don't forget! This year UNT is debuting virtual permits. That means you can purchase your permit online without waiting for it to come in the mail. Don’t wait — popular permits sell out fast.

The North Texas Eye Clinic is open throughout the summer, so take care of your eyes before the fall rush. There are discounts available for glasses and contacts. Check the hours on their website and make an appointment.

View the calendar online or swing by the University Union Program Council office in the University Union, Room 221, to pick up a physical copy.
