EAGLE ALERT
UNT will test its emergency notification system, UNT Eagle Alert, each month of the fall semester and moving forward. The next system test is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 26. The system notifies the UNT community about ongoing emergency situations and university closings by sending text and voice messages by phone and displaying a full-screen alert on campus computers and presentation screens.
Check your contact information and make updates if needed on the Profile tab of my.unt.edu to ensure you receive test messages and future alerts.

BECOME AN ORIENTATION LEADER
Do you want to have an unforgettable summer while you help new students transition to UNT? Apply to be an orientation leader! Orientation leaders are undergraduate students who spend their summer welcoming incoming freshmen and transfer students to UNT while evolving into well-rounded student leaders building relationships and making connections.
Orientation leaders have gone on to serve in several on-campus leadership positions, ranging from resident assistants to student government roles.

REGALIA ORDERS
Time to start planning your commencement fit! You can order your regalia online through Tuesday, Nov. 11, or visit UNT Barnes & Noble inside the University Union from Tuesday, Oct. 14, through Saturday, Nov. 22, to buy in person. Doctoral students, be sure to rent your regalia online by Saturday, Oct. 25.

SADDLE UP TO VOLUNTEER
Homecoming Week is galloping toward us, Monday, Oct. 13, to Saturday, Oct. 18! As a reminder, this year’s theme is Mean Green Round Up – and it’s time to round up volunteers, y’all!
Student organizations can sign up to table at the Homecoming Picnic, and all students can sign up to volunteer to help with the Homecoming Picnic on Monday, Oct. 13, Yell Like Hell on Wednesday, Oct. 15 and the Bonfire on Thursday, Oct. 16.
If you’re a student employee, see if your department would like to sign up for the Department Decorating Contest and showcase your area’s creativity and UNT pride.

EVERY-RING'S BIGGER IN TEXAS
The UNT Alumni Association unveiled the 1,800-pound UNT ring statue, donated by Jostens. This new campus landmark is located under the Gateway Center arch and symbolizes UNT’s legacy and the longtime treasured ring tradition. Be sure to stop by the statue and snap a selfie or two!

COMIC CREATIVE
Attention all comic fans! The Denton Comic Art Exposition is coming up on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Denton Civic Center. The event brings together independent creators and vendors and is organized by UNT alum Bryan Kelly (’08). His most recent work is a local cover he drew for the Archie Meets Jay and Silent Bob comic book featuring the Denton County Courthouse on the Square.

BECAUSE MOSLEY SAID SO
Mean Green Maniacs set a challenge to break the UNT student attendance record at the Sept. 13 Mean Green football game, and you showed up with a record-breaking 7,000 students in attendance! Vice President and Director of Athletics Jared Mosley promised to go FULL Stone Cold if the record was broken, and he kept his promise! After beating Army 45-38 on Sept. 20, the Mean Green are 4-0 and the next game is at 11 a.m. Saturday in DATCU Stadium against South Alabama. Get your tickets and Go Mean Green!
