Epic Wellness Month & Taking Care

We are turning the corner to the second half of the season. This means longer days and hopefully more snowstorms! Coming out of some of the busiest holiday periods of the year, we know it can be a challenge to keep your energy up. We encourage you to use this time of year as a chance to catch your breath, recharge, and take care of yourself. As we wrap up Epic Wellness Month at Vail Resorts, now is a great time to learn more and take advantage of the wellness resources that are available to you throughout the season. On-the-Spot Recognition: A High Five to Your Colleagues

Did you know that anyone can submit an On-the-Spot Recognition for another employee? If you spot a colleague living up to our company’s core values (Be Safe, Do Good, Do Right, Have Fun, Serve Others and Drive Value), you can nominate them for some recognition! Through the Epic Employee website or app, select “My Location” then “Recognition” to find the form to submit. This will automatically enter the employee into a raffle for sweet prizes. Managers will also be able to present them with a value pin recognizing their efforts.

We are excited to start a weekly virtual tech talk (all disciplines) every Thursday starting this week on 1/27 from 5:30-6:30 pm. We are sharing teaching, technical, and people skills topics each week.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

A video recording is now available for all employees between guest
speaker Wade Davis, VP of Inclusion at Netflix, and Kirsten Lynch, CEO of
Vail Resorts. Wade is a former NFL Player, thought leader, public speaker, and writer on
gender, race, and orientation equality. We’re excited to share this conversation with him
about what he’s learning about unconscious bias in the workplace. If you are interested in deepening your awareness, you can take a diagnostic test that provides a safe space to discover your hidden biases here.

This video is provided to you as an optional DEI resource and if you are interested in discussing unconscious bias in the workplace further, please reach out to your teammates, supervisors, and managers.

Complete your Continuous Listening Survey

The Continuous Listening survey is open to seasonal employees and we encourage you to participate by responding before February 4 with your honest feedback. You will receive an email from survey@glintinc.com and a notification in EpicEmployee.

This is your chance to share your voice with us and the team at Vail Resorts. Survey data will be used locally and enterprise-wide to implement impactful actions and changes. We look forward to your feedback.

EpicPromise Mountain Madness - Okemo vs. Stowe!

Represent Okemo in Vail Resorts’ second annual Mountain Madness trivia tournament! Get competitive and join in the fun of this virtual trivia tournament.

Every location gets to play at least 3 games, which includes an East vs. West match at the end of the tournament.

In round one we’re taking on Stowe. If we win, we’ll progress to the next round!  If we do not win this first round, don’t worry, we will still have a chance to play and possibly win the Bragger’s Bracket!

Wednesday, February 9
5:30 PM EST
Okemo vs. Stowe

The winning location of the Champions Bracket not only receives bragging rights but will receive a banner to proudly display around their mountain and a trophy!

No pre-registration is necessary; we will provide a game link and tips for gameplay ahead of the event.

Be Inclusive in Action

This week, we kicked off our new Epic For Everyone Youth Access Program with young people and nonprofit organizations experiencing snowsports at Afton Alps and Liberty Mountain. This year, Epic for Everyone Youth Access Programs will support 11 nonprofit partner organizations across 11 resort communities and will serve more than 1,000 youth through the program.
