Smart Cookies and Digital Cookie Resources
|
Now that Cookie Central is basically your online go-to when it comes to cookie resources, it’s time to do the same with Smart Cookies and Digital Cookie. Whether you learn by doing, watching videos, or reading a guidebook, we have the tools, resources, and support you need. What will you use Smart Cookies for and what will you do in Digital Cookie? Use the Online Cookie Systems Guide on Cookie Central to give you the answers on when you will use each system:
Smart Cookies:
After the initial order, you’ll continue to use Smart Cookies for managing troop inventory, scheduling cookie booths, ordering rewards, crediting Girl Scouts with cash/check payments, viewing financials, running reports, and more. If you need help from the pros, contact your Community Product Leader, contact us, or the ABC Help Desk.
Digital Cookie:
Watch for an email on January 24 from Girl Scout Cookies noreply@girlscouts.org with the subject line: “Cookie season is almost here! Help your troop reach their goals with Digital Cookie.” If the email doesn’t land in your inbox, check your spam/promo/junk folder. In that email, you’ll find a Register Now button that will take you to the site to begin the set-up process.
Both troops and families will use Digital Cookie to engage in online cookie sales and take credit card, Venmo, or PayPal payments. Troops also have the option to set up two Digital Cookie sales links:
|
- The Troop Ship Only link: Set up this link to be included in the National Girl Scout Cookie Finder starting February 21. The troop can share this link to promote shipped only sales both online, by email, or on printed marketing materials.
-
The Troop Site Link: Once a troop has set up the Troop Site in Digital Cookie, you’ll have the option to offer online orders for pre-paid pick-up at an existing cookie booth location or offer delivery orders. We only recommend these sales for experienced troops. Check out more details in the Online Cookie Systems Guide for Volunteers.
|
Troops and Girl Scouts will use the Digital Cookie Mobile App to accept in-person and booth credit card, Venmo, and PayPal payments. Once your troop site is set up in a web browser you can download or update the Digital Cookie Mobile App from the iTunes or Google Play store. The email and password used to access Digital Cookie is the same to log into the mobile app. Digital Cookie will launch for online sales on February 12.
|
Cookie Chats Begin January 22
|
Join the Product Program Team for our first Cookie Chat of the season in Zoom! It’s this coming Wednesday, January 22, starting at 7:30 PM. We’ll review the Troop experience in Digital Cookie. Cookie Chats offer Troop Cookie Volunteers a live platform to get their questions answered and receive real-time support throughout the cookie season. Register anytime up to the start of the event. Once registered, you’ll receive the meeting details.
|
Can’t join us? A recording of the session will be shared here in The Cookie Press, in Rallyhood, and in our Girl Scouts River Valleys Troop Product Program Volunteers Facebook group.

Assisting Troops with Initial Cookie Orders
|
After the troop initial cookie order deadline has passed, you can edit orders until Saturday, January 25, at 11:59pm. Follow these steps to edit or enter an initial order from your community level access:
|
-
Go to the Orders tab and select Troop Initial Order
- Enter the troop # in the search bar under the Troop drop-down box or scroll down to the troop #, then click Apply
- Enter the troop order in cases, then click Save
-
If you are adjusting the order, enter the # of cases the Troop would like in each Cookie variety, then click Save
- Select a delivery location, date, and time, then click Save
- For troops assigned to a Mini Drop delivery, only the location and address will appear
|
Smart Cookies Super Users: Run the Troop Initial Order Report to view troops with initial orders. Reach out to Troops who may need a reminder to place their order. Run the Troops with No Specified Delivery Station Report to view the troops that placed an initial order but are missing a delivery station. For Troops assigned to Mega Drops, you can select a location for the troop until January 25. For any troop missing a delivery station after January 25, River Valleys will select a location and timeslot for the troop.
|
Community and Area Role in Digital Cookie
|
Community and Area Product Leaders have been added to Digital Cookie. On January 24, you will receive a registration email. Your volunteer access appears as a Service Unit volunteer. If you hold both Community and Troop roles, you can navigate both roles from your Digital Cookie dashboard. If you are also the caregiver of a Girl Scout, you can manage that role starting on February 1.
