Plus: Ron Coleman joins 'Beyond J' to discuss his fish parenting research
Sac State's art history comes alive as students catalog campus collection |
Sacramento State students are uncovering the stories behind dozens of public artworks scattered across campus. The semester-long project from Associate Professor of Art Mya Dosch's public art class will create the University's first comprehensive catalog of the campus collection.
"They can create meaning at Sac State that future students can use to learn from and to build on," said Dosch. "The project shows that Sac State cares about their work, and that their work also shows their care for Sac State."
From prominent murals to hidden sculptures, the catalog will document 40 pieces of public art, helping future generations understand and appreciate the University's rich artistic heritage when it becomes publicly available next spring.
