With colorful murals, campus marks progress toward antiracism goals
On April 10, Sacramento State revealed the second phase of it's multiyear mural project highlighting the University's commitment to and progress toward becoming a more inclusive and welcoming campus.
The new set of murals, titled "Becoming," adorn the southern walls of the Ernest E. Tschannen Engineering Teaching and Research Building, and are a visual representation of the progress Sac State is making toward the goals outlined in its Antiracism and Inclusive Campus Plan.
“I think of antiracism and inclusive work as a journey and it doesn't really have a final destination,” said Mia Settles-Tidwell, vice president for Inclusive Excellence. “Different issues will emerge, but at different points in time we need to chronicle and memorialize where we're at.”
