| Fall family fun awaits! Celebrate the season together and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Delight in our festive fall Pumpkin Displays, on view now through October 31. Crafted by our talented horticulturists, discover these artfully arranged displays of pumpkins, gourds, and more within our Rose Arbor, the Peirce-du Pont House Plaza, and our Idea Garden and Ornamental Kitchen Garden.
Celebrate a quarter-century of wonder as our beloved Garden Railway returns on October 3. This whimsical blend of horticulture, engineering, and fun, located outdoors near the Beer Garden, turns 25 this year! Experience this multi-level world in miniature, complete with large-scale model trains rumbling through a seasonally changing plant palette and a collection of models that represent and recreate many of Longwood’s most beloved features in miniature—including a new-this-year Chimes Tower and Waterfall model.
Engage your senses and connect with another during a 30-minute Family Nature Stroll designed to explore the sights, sounds, and scents of the season. These guided strolls are offered on October 4, 11, and 18 at 10:30 am and 11:30 am.

Chrysanthemum Festival Makes Its Grand Return

The beauty of chrysanthemums meets the talents of our horticulturists and scientists with Chrysanthemum Festival, on view from October 24 to November 16. Experience a living masterpiece of ever-changing wonder, where we push the boundaries of fall’s favorite flower into 66 specialty forms, from baskets to spirals, columns to clouds. We can’t wait to share it with you.
New this year, we give you a behind-the-scenes look with an in-depth exhibit examining the art and science behind the Chrysanthemum Festival and how our artists achieve this horticulturally rigorous display.

Plantology on Tap: Fall's Finest

On Thursday, October 16, join Longwood East Conservatory Manager Karl Gercens at The Creamery of Kennett Square for a vibrant look at the sights, colors, and magic of autumn.
Get an insider’s look at how Longwood transforms fall favorites from mums to pumpkins to foliage in our breathtaking displays and Chrysanthemum Festival. Gercens will also share expert tips on the best spots to catch peak fall color at Longwood.
Enjoy a small bite and signature cocktail as you mingle and learn!

Narrated by Emmy Award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary) and directed by Emmy Award-winning documentary storyteller Glenn Holsten, this film offers a cinematic and behind-the-scenes look at the transformation of 17 acres of one of the world's great cultural landscapes.

Join us for one last splash of fun! We’re closing out this year’s fountain performances in spooky good style with our Wicked Fun Fountain Fest Weekend October 24–26, complete with festive tunes and fountain thrillers.
Climb to the top of the Chimes Tower for a stunning view, join in on a themed family activity in the Pumphouse Plaza, enjoy live music in the Beer Garden with Polkadelphia, and hear fun, spooky selections in a new way on the carillon and with automated demos on the Longwood Organ.
Cap off each evening with our Halloween Magic Illuminated Fountain Performance at 8:15 pm, a hauntingly fun finale you won’t want to miss.
