Courses and plans of study policy

The Creation and Revision of Courses and Plans of Study Policy (AA-PRS-PO-04) was requested by the Provost’s Office. The office is transitioning to a formal process managed by software, which has presented a need for a comprehensive policy review.

If you have graduating international student employees, be on the lookout for an email from the UTA Office of Talent, Culture and Engagement with required end-of-assignment dates.

Faculty assessment survey 

The Office of Community Standards will be distributing a brief survey to faculty to gather feedback on faculty knowledge of its office, the services it provides, and their experiences interacting with it. Completing the survey helps enhance the University's outreach and support for faculty. The survey runs through Monday, May 12.

Expense procedures

Minor edits were made to Entertainment and Official Occasion Expenses Procedure (BF-PGS-PR-12) to align the tip calculation with the travel guidelines, which allows for 20% of the total bill for meals, taxis, etc. Document links were also updated.

Time is running out for groups in the "Spring Forward" Challenge to collectively log 1 million steps and cross the virtual finish line on Sunday, May 4. For more information, visit ut.limeade.com.

Two new degree programs

Beginning in fall 2025, students can pursue either a Bachelor of Business Administration or a Bachelor of Science in hospitality management through the College of Business. Courses will cover topics such as hotel and restaurant management, accounting, operations, marketing and sales, event planning, business analytics, information technology, and more.

130 seconds with Chris Barber

In honor of our 130th anniversary, Marketing, Messaging and Engagement is spending 130 seconds with faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Meet Chris Barber, an Admissions Counselor at The University of Texas at Arlington. Barber graduated in the fall of 2023 with a B.A. in Critical Languages & International Studies, specializing in Chinese. He is passionate about learning languages and aims to achieve conversational fluency in at least five.
