NEW FAFSA FORM LIVE, FAFSA DEADLINE BILL HEADS TO PRESIDENT'S DESK
The Department of Education released the 2025-26 FAFSA ten days ahead of schedule, after extensive beta testing. While most functions are live, batch processing for corrections will be available in early 2025.
In other FAFSA news, the FAFSA Deadline Act (H.R. 8932) has passed both the House and Senate and is now headed to President Joe Biden’s desk. The bill mandates the FAFSA form be available each year on Oct. 1, with the Secretary of Education required to explain any delays to Congress.
