Buzz Buddy Holiday Gathering!

Buzz Buddies, come mix and mingle with all the other families for some holiday cheer to celebrate the end of the year!

This invite is extended to those families new to Julia Green who were assigned a Buzz Buddy AND those serving as Buzz Buddies to our incoming families. Please RSVP to jgbuzzbuddies@gmail.com.

There are three ways to donate to the Hygiene for the Holidays drive:

1) Donate items using the Amazon Wishlist. These will be sent directly to CRC.

2) Donate items in the donation bins in the Julia Green lobby.

3) Make a Hygiene Kit with your Family. Grab empty boxes & stickers from the donation bin area in the Julia Green lobby. Fill each box with one of each of the items listed above and return the filled box(es) to the donation bins in the lobby.

Give the gift of health, hygiene and human dignity this holiday season!

Tomorrow will be a special World Cup Spirit Day!

Students can help cheer on Team USA with their red, white and blue - or sport their favorite World Cup team's attire - with SSA bottoms. Let's show our World Cup spirit as we advance to the next round of 16!

Spirit Night at Panera is TOMORROW!

The purpose of the JG Giving Tree is to provide items for our JG students
whose families experience financial struggles during the holidays. Items
include games, books, craft/art supplies and shoes. We hope this project also demonstrates the importance of giving.

If you and your family would like to participate in this holiday drive:

1. Sign up HERE for item(s) to give (please include batteries if needed).

2. Label the item by the star number for which you signed up. (For example, Star #1C.)

3. Return the labeled, unwrapped gift to the bins located in front of the
JG lobby, no later than the morning of Monday, December 12th.

*We are also collecting rolls of wrapping paper and large boxes.*

Read-a-Thon T-Shirt Design Contest

Read-a-Thon (RAT), Julia Green's school-wide reading marathon and fundraiser, is fast approaching, with additional details following soon. This year's t-shirt will be designed by one of JG's own 3rd or 4th graders.

Please see the contest details below and submit your design to Miss G in the art room by December 8th. Happy designing!

Requirements:

You must be a JG 3rd or 4th grade student
Name and Class are written on the back
Paper is in vertical format
"Read Your Heart Out" theme is recognizable (can also consider "Hornets with Heart" and/or "Valentine's Day" themes)
Design must include the following words: Read-a-Thon, 2023, Julia Green Elementary
Design must be outlined and colored in with solid black marker

Camp Brick

Camp Brick has opened registration for LEGO Club Session #3 and #4, which will take place on Tuesdays in January 2023. Click here to secure your spot!

The PTO is excited to sponsor a pizza lunch to be held in the cafeteria on December 15th for all classes during their regular lunch time! Feel free to send a side (fruit, veggie,chips) to round out the meal if desired. If your child does not want pizza, the full cafeteria line is open or they can bring lunch from home. Students will not be allowed to go through the line just for sides and milk. If they do go through the cafeteria line they must get the entire meal, however, kids are allowed to go to the cafeteria line and have pizza.

Classrooms will have Winter Celebrations on the same day OR the Friday before (12/9) depending on grade level preference. The Winter Celebrations will have a special snack and craft/game and/or movie in the classroom to celebrate the holidays. Your room parent will be in touch with specific plans for your class and how you can help. Happy Holidays!

Calling All Hornets!

The Annual Spring Party will be here before we know it and the Spring Party Auction Committee is looking for donations from you, our wonderful community.

The goal of the Julia Green auction is to provide funding for various curriculum materials, classroom supplies, and additional educational activities not covered by Metro Nashville’s Public School System. The auction has a long history of offering items that have been generously donated by our parent community, and we hope we can count on you to continue that tradition.

Please consider providing an item or service. Examples of past donations include vacation homes, professional services, sporting or cultural event tickets, musical performances, gift certificates and more. Please email jgspringauction23@gmail.com for the donation request form.

The Julia Green PTO is collecting information of JG owned businesses that we can in turn share with our community to support while shopping for the holidays.
