LOFGREN DEMANDS NASA CEASE CLOSURES AT GODDARD SPACE FLIGHT
This week, House Science Committee Ranking Member Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) sent a letter to NASA Acting Administrator Sean Duffy demanding that “NASA immediately halt all building, laboratory, facility, and technical capability closure and relocation activities and immediately cease the relocation, disposal, excessing, or repurposing of any specialized equipment or mission-related hardware and systems” at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Earlier this month, Space.com reported that “NASA has been prematurely and illegally implementing the President’s 2026 budget request before Congress finalizes funding” and that, “under the cloak of a closed U.S. government, nearly half the GSFC campus – the hub of NASA science – is marked for abandonment.”
