STS Graduating Seniors!

The time has come to get an official headcount for this year's STS Diploma Ceremony!

You MUST fill out this form if:
  • you are an STS graduating senior who plans to attend the diploma ceremony
  • you are an STS graduating senior who DOES NOT plan to attend the diploma ceremony
  • you are officially graduating in a later quarter, but will be done with your requirements and would like to walk in the ceremony. 
In other words, if you are an STS senior, you need to fill out this form!
Please note, the online preorder pick-up site for regalia (cap & gown) has closed. You may place an order to have your rental regalia shipped to your home address (+$16.95 shipping) until May 16th, or rent from the Stanford Bookstore beginning June 5th. Place an order here.

STS Senior Dinner

Enjoy a special farewell dinner with your friends and STS faculty before graduation. This year's STS Senior Dinner is at the spectacular Holland-Yates residence in Portola Valley. STS Honors Symposium

Please join us for the STS Honors Symposium! Each STS Honors student will do a short presentation of their honors thesis followed by a Q&A.  Feel free to come and go as your schedule permits though your support for as many of the presenting students as possible would be greatly appreciated. This is an open event so please do invite family, friends and any others who might be interested in attending. Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees.

Science Communication In An Age

Of Disinformation

Tuesday, May 30, 2023, 4:00 - 6:00 pm
Hybrid: Alway M112 & Zoom
This interactive workshop is designed to engage scientists in conversation about misinformation and disinformation related to scientific topics. The workshop will feature activities that allow participants to reflect on credibility in science. Participants will learn how and what to communicate to mitigate the spread of misinformation and how to tailor messages to audiences from a range of backgrounds. RSVP Here.

Research Assistant at the Program on Democracy and the Internet

The Program on Democracy and the Internet seeks a research assistant for research projects on Internet policy and the digital economy under Postdoctoral Scholar Meicen Sun. This is a unique opportunity for policy-relevant computational social science research on cyberspace policy and data politics. Tasks include data collection, processing, and analysis. All eligible undergraduate students are welcome to apply.

Data Analyst Internship - Summer 2023

Peninsula Clean Energy maintains extensive data sets, including customer load data, renewable energy project generation data, project pricing and revenue data, and contract data, among others. These data sets are currently saved in ad-hoc locations, mostly as .csv files. The Data Analyst Intern will be responsible for consolidating and repairing these data sets and uploading them to our existing Google Cloud data warehouse. The Data Analyst intern will also be responsible for sourcing new data sets and importing them into the data warehouse.

City of Santa Clara Student Intern

The Student Internship Program is designed to nurture the educational and professional development of promising job candidates. Student Interns assist professional and technical employees in the performance of their duties under close supervision. The student intern’s specific tasks vary depending on the Agency/Department to which they are assigned. Student Interns can be used throughout the calendar year depending on the needs of the department.
