BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

BOYS XC SYCAMORE INVITE RESULTS

GMC CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS SATURDAY

On Thursday, 9/26, the Mason boys cross country team ran a limited varsity at the Sycamore Stoneberger Invitational. Even though they held out their top guys, the Comets raced to a formidable runner-up finish to host Sycamore. Senior Chris Millard led the charge for the Comets with a fine 4th-place finish. He was followed by Senior Nick Pathak in 7th and Junior Luke Young in 11th. Juniors Carson Wyss and Ethan Haaga rounded out the Comets' scoring in 12th and 14th places respectively. Junior Tommy Chen and Senior Nolan Connors served as displacers.

The Comets will compete with another limited varsity on Tuesday at the CHCA at VOA Park. The next time the full squad will race will be on October 5th at the GMC Championships also at VOA.

The GMC Championships are slated for Saturday, 10/5 at VOA. Mason Boys will be seeking their 4th consecutive league title and 13th overall.

GIRLS XC AT CHCA INVITE TUESDAY

GMC CHAMPIONSHIPS SATURDAY

Next for the girls team is the CHCA Fall Classic on Tuesday, Oct. 1st.

The GMC Championships will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5th at VOA. The girl's team will compete for their 5th straight league title and 13th overall since the 2010 season.

MASON FOOTBALL DEFEATS FAIRFIELD

HOMECOMING HURRICANE WIN FOR COMETS!

Mason Football didn't let a hurricane get in the way of winning another GMC battle with Fairfield last Friday. The Comets roared to a 31-13 win over the visiting Indians on Homecoming night. The offense rolled up 343 total yards with RB Branden Dunn rushing for 169 yards on 16 carries and one TD. Temi Adesanya had a TD and 45 yards on the ground as well.

The Comets held a 24-0 advantage at the half.

Mason (2-4, 2-3) will visit Middletown (4-2, 3-2) this Friday. The Middies fell to Lakota East last Friday 50-23.

BOYS GOLF AT QUAD TUESDAY

NIERE QUALIFIES FOR DISTRICT

Mason next competes in its last regular-season match of the year at TPC River's Bend on Tuesday, October 1. Also participating in the Quad match - a Senior Night activity for the host school Kings - will be Sycamore and Tippecanoe.

Thomas Niere will compete as an individual in the District meet at Pipestone Golf Club on Monday, October 7, competing for one of the 3 individual qualifying spots to the State Championship available to players not on a qualifying team.

GIRLS GOLF- DATTILO AND ZHANG TO DISTRICT!

Ava Dattilo and Tanya Zang qualified for the District Championship tourney and will compete on Tuesday, October 8th at the District Championships at Pipestone GC.

CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH OF THESE COMETS!

State tournament qualifiers from the District: will be 3 teams and 3 individuals with low scores.

The Comets, (8-0-3) overall and (6-0-0) in the GMC, next game is home v Hamilton, Monday, 9/30, at 7:15 pm.

GIRLS' TENNIS AT SECTIONAL WEDNESDAY

The recent GMC Champion Comets will begin Sectional play Wednesday, 10/2, and conclude on Saturday, 10/5. Qualifications from the Sectional to the District Tournament will be four (4) singles and four (4) doubles.
