| CMU Students Launch Nucleate Chapter in Pittsburgh
Carnegie Mellon students Michael Gee, School of Computer Science, and Chris Aldrich, biomedical engineering Ph.D., want to encourage local students to take advantage of the life science resources the city has to offer—then stick around to build their bio businesses here. After becoming exposed to Nucleate, the student-led, chapter-based organization that promotes the development of biotech companies in cities around the world, Michael decided to launch a Pittsburgh chapter, of which he and Chris are co-managing directors.

Resilient Lifescience Wins $500K In Richard King Mellon Foundation Pitch Competition
Resilient Lifescience, co-founded by CMU alumnus and CEO Brad Holden, won first place and $500K at the second Richard King Mellon Foundation's Social-Impact Investment Pitch Competition. The company, which aims to combat drug overdoses with wearable, intelligent drug delivery systems, was also recently named to Technical.ly's 2023 RealLIST Startups list for Pittsburgh.

| Apply to the VentureBridge Summer Accelerator
The VentureBridge Summer Accelerator is a 12-week program that helps CMU startups by investing capital ($25K SAFE Note), providing office space in Silicon Valley, New York and Pittsburgh, as well as making introductions to mentors, experts and investors.
Eligible teams must have at least one Carnegie Mellon University affiliated alumni founder. All applications must include a pitch deck and a two-minute pitch video. Applications are due by Friday, March 31, 2023 at midnight.
