Welcome to Whistler Blackcomb!

You’re about to begin an incredible journey, not just as a Snow School instructor, but as a vital part of the most iconic mountain resort in the world.  Whistler Blackcomb isn’t just a place to work, it’s a place to grow, to connect and to inspire. It’s a place to go beyond.

Joining our Snow School means becoming part of a legacy of excellence, passion and adventure. Last season, our team helped thousands of guests discover the joy of sliding, and we did it with passion, professionalism and a deep commitment to the guest experience. This year, you’ll help us take that even further.

As you prepare for the season ahead, know that you’re stepping into a community that values safety, supports one another, and celebrates the mountain lifestyle. Your safety is our top priority because the only thing better than sliding today is sliding tomorrow! Your experience matters deeply to us, and we want you to feel empowered, connected and proud of the work you will do each and every day.

Moving forward, it’s critical you stay in touch with your hiring manager and once the season begins be sure to lean on your supervisors and manager. We’re here to help you succeed and to make sure your first season with us is truly unforgettable.

If you need a password reset during preboarding please follow these steps and if you need more assistance reach out to peopleconnect.

Start Date
We will be sending out training dates to all snow school new hires on November 1st. The first day of training selected will be your first day of work. Our first new staff snow school orientation will be on November 26th but we will also have later orientations in December for those who have not yet arrived in Whistler. On-Snow training dates will be scheduled from end of November through the first couple of weeks of December.

Exciting news!!! Whistler Blackcomb will have a staff ski day on November 20th and all new hires are welcome to attend if they wish (employee pass must be collected to participate). We will be sending more information about employee pass pick up in November.
Housing
If you are working full-time, you can apply for HOUSE after accepting your job offer from Olivia.  We have limited beds available, and we have a high volume of applicants. Therefore, most of our applicants will be placed on a long waitlist (we still had people on the waitlist last season in March).

We highly recommend everyone who has an application pending or on our housing waitlist to secure your own housing independently as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
We are currently in the process of moving applications to the waitlist so your application will be updated soon. We typically don’t see much movement on the waitlist, and therefore we are unfortunately unable to answer any questions about how long you will be waitlisted.
Instructor Pay Rates
Our Snow School instructor wages are broken down into bands. Where you sit within our wage bands depends on your certification and experience.
Entry points for each level of certification:
Level 1 - $21/hr
Level 2 - $23/hr
Level 3 - $27/hr

All certification and experience documentation must be submitted to wbsspay@vailresorts.com. Please send all attachments in one email. This includes all ski/snowboard certifications, letters from previous employers stating hours worked at other resorts as an instructor or other roles working with children. You will be originally hired at $20.00 and before you start work, we will go over all the documents you submit and adjust your pay.
