Program: 2024-2025 Center Research Fellowship
Synopsis: Supports senior scholar from any discipline who will advance genocide research through the use of the USC Shoah Foundation Visual History Archive and other unique USC resources. The recipient will be required to spend the Fall or Spring semester in residence at the USC Dornsife Center for Advanced Genocide Research in Los Angeles during the 2024-2025 academic year. The chosen fellow will be expected to provide the Center with fresh research perspectives, to play a role in Center activities, and to give a public talk during his or her stay.
Award details: $30K for 1 semester duration.

Program: 2024 Carter Manny Award — The Writing Award (for graduate students)
Synopsis
: Supports graduate students who are in the final writing phase of their doctoral dissertation. Eligible dissertation projects must focus on architecture, though scholarly investigations may be grounded in a range of academic disciplines and fields of inquiry that align with the mission of the Graham Foundation. These include: architecture and architectural history; art and art history; design; engineering; landscape architecture; urbanism; and other related fields. Applicants for a Writing Award must submit a writing sample (excerpt from a dissertation chapter), a dissertation table of contents, and a writing schedule. Students must be nominated by their departments to apply for this award.

Program: 2024-2025 Resident Scholar Program / Donald Ottenhoff Fellowship
Synopsis
: Supports scholars who plan to conduct their research over the course of one semester or a full academic year. This fellowship is designed for those who will (1) Explore the relationship between art and lived religion; (2) Bring theological or religious resources to bear on current social, political, or cultural circumstances.
Award details: The fellowship includes fee-free housing at the Collegeville Institute, up to $2,K to cover travel and research expenses, and all privileges afforded to Resident Scholars or Short-Term Resident Scholars.

Program: Behavioral Science and Decision Making in Context
Synopsis
: Supports research projects from a range of disciplines that will advance our understanding of economic, social and political decision-making processes, attitudes, behaviors and institutional practices in public and private contexts such as policing / criminal legal systems, employment, housing, politics, racial / ethnic relations and immigration. Examples of broad areas of interest are:

Award details: Trustee Grants are capped at $200K including 15% indirect costs; Presidential Grants are capped at $50K (no indirect costs). Asian Cultural Council (ACC)
Program: 2024 Grants
Synopsis
: Supports the advancement of international dialogue, mutual understanding, and respect through supporting cultural exchange projects by individuals and organizations between Asia and the US and between Asian countries. As such the ACC offers a suite of funding opportunities: (1) New York Fellowship: A six-month fellowship program based in New York City, with logistical and programmatic support from ACC staff. Fellowships may involve targeted research projects or open-ended exploration. (2) Individual Fellowship: One- to six-month fellowships for individuals, or small groups of collaborators, undertaking self-directed research. Programmatic support from ACC staff may be available by region. (3) Graduate Fellowship: A living stipend for students from Asia pursuing graduate degrees in the U.S., with priority given to students who do not have access to comparable programs at home, and to those studying in fields that are underrepresented in their home countries. (4) Organization Grant:  Support for cultural exchange opportunities for specific project participants who will benefit from the experience as individual fellowship recipients do – through cultural immersion, research, specialized training, exchange of knowledge among peers, and other process-oriented activities.
Award details: New York Fellowship: $36K for 6 months. Individual Fellowship: $35K; Graduate Fellowship: $15K for 1 academic year; opportunity for renewed additional year; Organization Grant: $50K.

The Retirement Research Foundation (RRF)
Program: Foundation for Aging
Synopsis
: Supports research on aging in the following priority areas: Caregiving; Economic Security in Later Life; Housing; and Social and Intergenerational Connectedness. RRF intends to support innovative and effective projects that support the ability of older people to live fully in community settings.  While the priority areas reflect RRF’s primary funding interests, RFF remains open to considering compelling applications addressing other topics on a limited basis.
Award details: Proposed budgets ought to reflect the needs of the project. RFF allows 10% of direct costs for indirect costs. The average of awards for 2023 was ~$126K.

National Academy of Education
Program: National Academy of Education (NAEd)/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship
Synopsis
: Supports early-career scholars working in critical areas of education research. To that end, the NAEd seeks to fund proposals that promise to make significant scholarly contributions to the field of education and to advance the careers of the recipients. Eligible applicants must have received their PhD, EdD, or equivalent research degree between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2022, and must not yet be tenured. Fellows may not receive other concurrent funding for their project during the tenure of the fellowship. Fellows may not hold a separate grant from the Spencer Foundation during their fellowship period.
Award details: $70K. As this is a non-residential fellowship, fellows may elect to take the fellowship full-time over one year or half-time over two years.

Program: Roy Scrivner Memorial Research Grant
Synopsis
: Supports the study of LGBTQA+ family psychology and therapy through its support of promising young investigators whose graduate research is oriented toward issues in this general area.  Among the program goals of this program include advancing the understanding of problems faced by LGBTQA+ families including those associated with cultural, racial, socioeconomic, and family structure diversity; advancing the understanding of successful coping mechanisms sources of support and resilience for family members; and advancing the understanding of clinical issues and interventions in the domain of LGBTQA+. Eligible candidates are advanced graduate students in good standing who have the endorsement of a supervising professor.

Program: Women’s Health Innovation
Synopsis
: Supports proposals that address gaps in research and development in women’s health. Specifically, seeks proposals to address the following topics: (1) Collecting more granular data, strengthening capacity for sex and gender-informed data collection, and filling critical data gaps; (2) Advancing sex- and gender-intentional research design, methods, and analysis (3) Implementing sex- and gender-intentional regulatory and science policy frameworks that promote the development of innovations that improve the health of women; (4) Strengthening the innovation ecosystem and pathways for women’s health solutions to scale;  (5) Social and structural determinants; (6) Training and careers; (7) Communicable diseases; and  (8) Researching the etiology and progression of gynecological, reproductive, maternal, and life stage conditions, supporting new methods for data collection and sharing, and developing innovations to prevent, diagnose, monitor and treat female-specific conditions. The solicitation provides more information regarding specific research in each of the above topic areas is requested.

National Endowment for the Humanities
Program: Landmarks of American History and Culture
Synopsis
: Supports a series of one-week residential, virtual, and combined format workshops across the nation that enhance and strengthen how K-12 educators, higher education faculty, and humanities professionals. The program situate the study of topics and themes in the humanities within sites, areas, or regions of historic and cultural significance to expand participants’ knowledge of and approaches to teaching about diverse histories, cultures, traditions, languages, and perspectives in the United States and its jurisdictions. Landmarks workshops offer participants a variety of possible workshop formats, a range of topics, and may occur in-person
and / or virtually, and include multiple place types.
Award details: $190K for 15 months.

Program: ASCR Leadership Computing Challenge (ALCC)
Synopsis
: The ASCR (ALCC) is an allocation program for projects of interest to the DoE, with an emphasis on high-risk, high-payoff scientific campaigns enabled via high-performance computing (HPC) in areas directly related to the DOE mission, that respond to national emergencies, or that broaden the community of researchers capable of using leadership computing resources. ALCC is currently soliciting proposals for allocation awards for the 2024-2025 allocation year. High performance computing (HPC) platforms available for the current allocation cycle include Frontier, the new exascale system at the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility (OLCF); early access on Aurora, the new exascale system at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF); Polaris, a new 44-petaflop accelerated system at ALCF; 6-month allocations on Theta at ALCF; and Perlmutter, a new accelerated system at the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC). 10% to 30% of the allocatable computing time will be made available on each of these machines to the ALCC program.

Synopsis: Supports proposals from the scientific community for Climate Resilience Centers (CRCs) that will improve the availability and utility of BER research, data, models, and capabilities to address climate resiliency, particularly by underrepresented or vulnerable communities. Examples of science challenges that the CRCs may address include:
  -  Developing contextualized, community-based definitions and models of resilience, illuminating the dynamic processes, quantifiable dimensions, and metrics that can be incorporated to measure progress.
  -  Developing new and insightful prediction tools and exploring their use through stress
testing to evaluate adaptation strategies that can achieve desired levels of equitable
resilience over time horizons of interest.
  -  Building or extending observational capabilities to provide the necessary data for new

Manufacturing USA Institutes cover a wide range of topical areas that span the challenging and high-tech world of advanced manufacturing, from biopharmaceutical production and tissue printing to robotics and cybersecurity. NSF is interested in receiving proposals addressing critical fundamental research on and workforce development needs for advanced manufacturing that enable innovations in the technical focus areas of one or more of the Manufacturing USA Institutes. Synopsis: Supports the Comprehensive Partnerships to Advance Cancer Health Equity (CPACHE) Program. The CPACHE Program develops and maintains comprehensive, long-term, and mutually beneficial partnerships between institutions serving underserved health disparity populations and underrepresented students (ISUPSs) and NCI-designated Cancer Centers (CCs). The program aims to achieve a stronger national cancer program and address challenges in cancer and cancer disparities research, education, and outreach, as well as cancer's impact on underserved populations. The institutions in each partnership are expected to work collaboratively to: 1) increase the cancer research and cancer research education capacity of the ISUPSs; 2) promote the diversity of the cancer research workforce; 3) improve the effectiveness of CCs in developing and sustaining research programs focused on cancer health disparities and increase the number of investigators and students conducting cancer health disparities research; and 4) develop and implement cancer-related outreach and education initiatives that benefit the surrounding underserved communities.
Award details: Application budgets are limited to $1.7M in direct costs per year for partnerships of two institutions and $2.2 million in direct costs per year for partnerships of three institutions. Project period is 5 years.

Program: Unveiling Health and Healthcare Disparities in Non-Communicable and Chronic Diseases (NCDs) in Latin America: Setting the Stage for Better Health Outcomes Across the Hemisphere

Synopsis: Supports collaborative and interdisciplinary research focused on clinical epidemiology, evaluation of public and / or health care policies, and validation of measurements that address health and health care disparities related to non-NCDs with the highest disease burden and mortality in Latin America and among U.S. Hispanics / Latinos. Those NCDs are many and include obesity, diabetes and related complications, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia/dyslipidemia, cancer, chronic lung disease (including asthma), chronic kidney disease, osteoarthritis, as well as chronic liver disease and cirrhosis. In addition, sleep disordered breathing, cognitive impairment and dementia, geriatric conditions and longevity, and mental and behavioral health conditions have been increasingly studied in Hispanic / Latino persons in the U.S. and throughout Latin America, yet their diagnosis is often delayed. Specific areas of interest include (partial)
  -  Describe access to and utilization of health services, quality of care and associated clinical and health outcomes related to NCDs, especially among underserved populations including Indigenous, Afro-Latino, and rural and suburban communities.
  -  Evaluate the effective integration of social services (e.g., food security, housing, education) with healthcare and its impact on health disparities and health outcomes.
  -  Assess the conceptualization of community and the contextualization of social determinants of health (SDoH), and how these can be optimally integrated into community-engaged research and the assessment of health / health care disparities across the region.
  -  Explore the conceptualization of race, ethnicity, and colorism throughout Latin America and among U.S. Hispanics / Latinos, and how it relates to racism and discrimination, SDoH, health care and health outcomes to inform how to intervene to improve health outcomes.
