Head to the Oak Grove between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. today for the Student Government Association’s celebration of IUP mascot Norm’s 17th birthday. The event will include food, music, games, and photo opportunities. Norm gets his name from Indiana State Normal School, which opened 150 years ago and which—three name changes later—became Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1965. Find more party details.

Help the Career and Professional Development Center collect 150 professional clothing items and 150 Food Pantry and Help Center items (in honor of the university’s 150th anniversary) by October 30 for the Suit-Up and Stock-Up Drive. All donations will benefit IUP students. Drop off items at the center in B20 Stabley Library.

A 1978 graduate who opened doors for women in the corrections field is establishing an annual scholarship for two seniors—one in education and one in criminology. “I want to help students who have worked hard and who just need that extra help to get over the finish line,” she said.
