Looking to elevate your writing and presentation skills? The Writing Center’s Wednesday Workshops are now in full swing! Join expert presenters every Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. for guidance on topics ranging from designing poster presentations to adding generative AI tools to your academic writing workflows in responsible and supportive ways.
You can attend all these workshops in person at 210 Stabley Library or join remotely via Zoom. Plus, many Wednesday Workshops count toward the Business Writing Credential you can earn in one semester! Next week’s workshop, “Résumé Writing,” held on February 12 at 7:00 p.m., will introduce participants to designing an effective résumé. The workshop will explore effective résumé samples, how to frame experiences for diverse audiences, and the different content that goes in a résumé.

Develop a vibrant vision for your future! Having a powerful vision helps you put the rest of your life into perspective and can make any challenges or setbacks seem manageable. A useful way to clarify your vision is to create a destiny map—a visual representation of what you would like in your life. Once you have created the destiny map, put it where you will see it on a regular basis as a reminder of how you would like your life to be.

The feature-length documentary A Case for Love examines the question of whether or not love—specifically, unselfish love—is the solution to the extreme societal and political divide facing the world.
The film team travels the US, searching for people who live their lives selflessly, and interviews them about how that way of living affects others and themselves. All are invited on February 10 at 6:00 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium.

This presentation explores the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of John Lewis (1940–2020), a civil rights icon and unwavering advocate for democracy, framed through his philosophy of “Good Trouble” as a cornerstone of democratic action. Tracing the historical trajectory of voting rights in the United States situates Lewis’s activism within the broader struggle for political equality, spanning from the promises of Reconstruction after the Civil War to the challenges of the modern era.
All are invited to this free Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, February 12, at 11:15 a.m. in the Elkin Hall Great Room.
