Welcome to the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority (PBDA) newsletter! Read on for the latest updates and news from the PBDA on grant opportunities, deadlines, and ways to support broadband efforts across the Commonwealth.

The second application round is now open! Community anchor institutions, such as libraries, municipalities, community schools, not-for-profit organizations, and more, can apply for laptops. Interested entities should review the program guidelines and application criteria. Applications will be accepted through Friday, May 30, 2025.

Additional resources, including FAQs, are available on the program page. Recent webinars that include breakout sessions will be posted in the near future.

There are now 144 Broadband Ready Communities (BBRC) that have received their designation status.

Is Your Municipality Ready?

While participation in the BBRC program is not required, it is encouraged, as it demonstrates that a municipality is committed to addressing existing barriers to broadband infrastructure deployment. More information is available on the BBRC program page.

Applications will continue to be accepted on a rolling basis, but don’t wait to participate! For questions regarding the BBRC Program, please email
