Congratulations to Taylor Anderson and Matthew Opron who were married on July 8.

Larry and Linda Brenneman celebrated their 57th anniversary on July 30.
They were married in Lone Tree, Iowa, and have 3 children: Greg (Orlando), Steve (Westlake, OH), and Kathy Nelson (Altamonte Springs), and 6 grandchildren: Veronica, Gavin, Lex, Anthony, Andrew, and Chris.

Phillip and Jo Demark are celebrating their 57th wedding anniversary.
They were married at Arlington Methodist Church in Jacksonville, FL by Rev. McCoy Gibbs on July 29, 1966, where Jo was the Director of Christian Education.
Jo joined St. Luke's in 1984 and has been a choir member for 39 years. Phillip joined St. Luke's in 2010 and is affectionately known as "the doughnut man," where you will find him every Sunday.
Jo was employed as a school counselor in Orange County and Phillip was employed in 1971 by Disney World where he worked for 38 years. Both are retired and enjoying cruising.

St. Luker Ken Simback passed away on June 10, 2023, and had been a partner with St. Luke’s since 2012.
During that time, he was involved in many areas of the church and served as an elected leader on our Board of Trustees.
He cared deeply for his family and his church. A service for Ken is forthcoming.
Please keep his wife, Lisa, and all who loved him in your prayers.

St. Luker Sue Shuman passed away on June 19, 2023. She had been a partner with St. Luke's since 1996.
It was here in our single's ministry where she met the love of her life, Dave.
A service for Sue was held on July 28 in the Sanctuary.
Please keep Dave and all who loved Sue in your prayers.

St. Luker Ray Wilson passed away on June 29, 2023.
Ray, along with his late wife Betty had been partners with St. Luke's since 1996.
He was active in Habitat for Humanity, New Directions, and other missions.
Betty and their daughter, Janet, welcomed Ray into the arms of eternal rest and we invite you to keep his son Chuck, grandson Alex, and all who loved him in your prayers.
A service was held for Ray on July 25 in the Sanctuary.

St. Luker William "Bill" Rushing passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 7.
Bill and his wife Cheryl have been partners with St. Luke's since 2009.
No services are planned at this time. Please keep Cheryl and all who loved Bill in your prayers.

St. Luker Michael Johnson peacefully passed away surrounded by family on July 12.
Michael and his wife Libby have been partners with St. Luke’s since 2019.
Michael was a part of our Church Council and Endowment Committee, as well as national organizations and educational institutions including our very own Bethune Cookman University, where he served as a trustee.
A service for Michael was held on July 20 in the Sanctuary. Please keep Libby and his whole family in your prayers.

Summer Camp Voices Speak Out
During St. Luke’s Summer Camp, our elementary-age kids learned all about Creation Care, and how we are called to love all of God’s creation.
We had the privilege of leading our students in Missions rotations, where campers learned about clean water, waste/recycling, food insecurity, saving energy, and ecological conservation.
Witnessing these amazing kids grow so passionate about these important topics was truly a powerful experience. Our fifth and sixth graders became so inspired that they wrote letters to elected officials to advocate for solutions to these issues, and we hope all of us will follow their example.
