Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues,
I am reaching out with excitement and an invitation for you to save the date for the 14th annual GVSU Teach-In, November 10-11. On behalf of the planning committee, we encourage you to incorporate the Teach-In into your Fall 2026 schedule of activities and/or course syllabi. This campus-wide event is an exceptional opportunity to engage, support, and challenge the GVSU community in alignment with our commitment to lifelong learning and educational equity. This year’s Teach-In is scheduled for:

|
|
-
Tuesday, November 10, on the Valley Campus (Allendale)
- Wednesday, November 11, on the City Campus (Grand Rapids)

The GVSU Teach-In is a campus-wide, student-centered development opportunity, providing deep learning experiences for students, faculty, and staff across the university. It allows us to explore how educational equity intersects with all academic and professional disciplines, including technology, healthcare, engineering, business, the arts, and others. The Teach-In aspires to be engaging, to promote dialogue, and to motivate action in transformative ways for participants. More details about the GVSU Teach-In may be found at .

In addition to including the Teach-In in your Fall schedule, we hope you will also consider presenting a session. Each session must have at least two presenters, preferably one of whom is a student. Additional guidelines for proposals may be found at the Teach-In FAQ website.
Submit a proposal by Sunday, October 11, to be considered. The Equity and Inclusion Committee, a standing committee of the University Academic Senate, and the Advocacy Committee of Student Senate are responsible for reviewing proposals to ensure alignment with the learning and development purpose of this two-day event.

For questions or more information, please contact me at stewarje@gvsu.edu. If you have students who are interested in presenting but are having trouble finding a faculty or staff mentor/co-presenter, please let me know, and I will help to identify willing faculty and staff.
Thank you for your engagement and support in this longstanding GVSU initiative.
